Iran economy has improved in the last five months

At the Eighty-eighth Session of the Public-Private Dialogue Council, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance pointed to some of the countrys economic indicators and said: Fortunately, in the past five months, we have received promising signs from the countrys economy.

(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- In the last five months, we have seen a drop in point-to-point and monthly inflation, as well as a positive trade balance for the country, Farhad Dejpasand stated.

He noted that the positive trade balance of the country is a result of the efforts of non-oil producers and exporters, and said the growth of non-oil exports by about 30% in terms of weight is very important.

Among other promising points of the country's economy, according to the Minister, are the 28% growth in issuing licenses for industries in the first five months of this year, more than 5% increase in stocks and securities in Tir (July) this year compared to last year, and increase in electricity consumption of SMEs.

After many years this year, we have witnessed a wet season in the country and this has boosted agricultural production and also with the support provided by the National Development Fund we will gradually see its positive effects on the economy, he said.

In another part of his speech, the Minister of Economy emphasized the effectiveness of the Public-Private Dialogue Council’s approvals, said the return of more than $8 billion in foreign currency during the past five months is due to the Council's debates and decisions.
