Addressing the annual General Assembly of the Export Development Bank of Iran, Farhad Dejpasand, Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance, described the export development of technical engineering services as one of the countrys priorities under sanctions, and said the Export Development Bank can play a very important role in this regard.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- One of the important targets of the country in terms of oil export restriction is the development of non-oil exports, especially technical engineering services and in this regard, neighboring countries are good targets due to infrastructure and development needs, Dejpasand stated.
He added that the Export Development Bank should establish a close relationship with the Export Guarantee Fund in this regard.
When oil revenues fall, the Export Development Bank should, on the one hand, help exporters increase non-oil exports, and on the other hand, encourage the return of foreign currency by applying encouraging policies, he continued.
Describing the advisory and guidance role of the Export Development Bank for exporters, Dejpasand said: Given the country's currency conditions, the Export Development Bank should guide exporters toward different ways of securing currency and repaying foreign exchange facilities.
The Chairman of the General Assembly of Export Development Bank pointed to the financial statements presented at the meeting, and praised the performance of the bank in 1397 (March 2018-19) and said: Compared to other banks, the Export Development Bank is characterized by its speed, quality of service, low levels of surplus property and high productivity.
He said the combination of Export Development Bank customers is such that most of them are familiar with up-to-date technologies because of working with the outside world, which is why the bank takes advantage of this opportunity to play a leading role in delivering new services and digitizing processes.
