The Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran says that 99.72 percent of claims by depositors of dissolved financial institutions have been paid off.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- Masoud Karbasian, during an interview with Sazandegi newspaper, stated: I do not deny the demands of the people at all and I understand their situation, and the government is taking its own corrective and administrative measures.
Stating that he understands the national interests and people's needs, the Minister said: My important task as the Minister of Economy is to defend the interests of the Iranian economy.
I can almost say that there are no economists with any kind of thinking in the country who have raised a theme, strategy or analysis of which we are unaware, said the Minister of Economy.
In another part of his speech, Karbasian said: In the first two months of this year, exports increased by 21.9 percent.
He also pointed out that the government is trying to sale surplus assets of banks, said: In this regard, the Committee on the Sale of Bank Surplus Assets began operating in the Ministry of Economy and 4400 billion tomans worth of surplus assets were sold during the six months.
The Minister of Economy further said that 99.72 percent of claims by depositors of dissolved financial institutions have been paid off.
In another part of his remarks, Karbasian stated that during 1392, 93 and 94, the growth rate of liquidity was 32.8%, 22.3%, and 30% respectively.
Liquidity has declined since 1395, reaching 23.2 percent this year. In 1396, the liquidity growth rate was 22.1%, he added, saying that last year 791 thousand jobs were created.
In Khordad (May 22-June 22), two main variables of the total stock market index and market value rose by 38.3% and 31.6% respectively, Karbasian noted.
The issue of various financing instruments from the beginning of the year to the end of Khordad (March 21 - June 22) compared to the same period last year has grown significantly, reaching 29007 billion rials, the Minister said, adding that last year, one million and 300 thousand taxpayers' declarations were accepted for small businesses.
