On the sidelines of the unveiling ceremony of three smart customs programs, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance of Iran pointed out the features of these programs and their significant impact on transparency and speeding up customs processes, stated: Today we are witnessing a massive change in the customs activities of the country.
(SHADA: TEHRAN) -- Speaking to reporters at the customs office of Mehrabad Airport, Farhad Dejpasand said: With the evolution of customs practices and activities, we can hope that the smart customs will soon be realized and there will be more facilitation for economic activists.
Today in the customs everything is clearly in the electronic environment, and it can be said that smuggling of goods in the form of transit can be quickly detected, the Minister of Economy added.
He further said that by equipping customs with X-ray machines, the monitoring process will be improved rapidly.
We can rely on domestic production and use the private sector's facilities, the minister said, adding that financing would be needed to equip all customs with X-ray machines.
The private sector can invest in this sector, and we think it can be very profitable economically, he continued.
It should be noted that during a ceremony on Wednesday, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance inaugurated smart customs programs including Mobile Customs, Smart Seal, and Network of Economic Activists at Customs Procedures.
